2009 Salt Spring Eco-Living and Home Tour

Back by popular demand, Salt Spring's famous Eco-Tour returns August 16. The tour includes some of Salt Spring's best examples of:

green building
-
energy efficiency
- water conservation
- food production
- renewable energy
- transportation alternatives
- ecological protection.
Visit exciting new projects, and old favorites that just keep getting better. Come out and see what your neighbours are doing, share information, and get new ideas for your project.

We are seeking volunteers to help for three hours
on the day of the tour, in exchange for a free tour pass.

Microhydro Study
Ever wondered how much power could be generated from the hundreds of small seasonal creeks that rush down Salt Spring’s hillsides each winter?

Rebate Program for Energy Efficiency
CRD Directory, Gary Holman, has just announced rebates of $75 for up to 110 households on Salt Spring Island
to reduce the cost of energy assessments for homeowners.

The new Home Renovation Tax Credit is available for work and goods after January 27, 2009, and before February 1, 2010.
