This is a game. The rules are simple. Register your Energy Circle by sending us the date of your first gathering and the names of the participants. Record your electricity usage for the previous 24 months and take the average kWh per day. This is the figure you will try to beat. Send us this info too. There will be prizes for the individuals who make the biggest percentage decreases in their power usage. As an added bonus, these people will also be saving the most money on their hydro bills. There will also be prizes for the people who sign up the most recruits.

 

To get started go to the BC Hydro site - www.bchydro.com and click on the Log In/Sign up for your bill link - right in the middle of the screen:

Register (if you haven't already) or log in. You will need one of your last two bills for verification information:

Once you have completed this you will be able to access your usage information for the last (approximately) two years:

To get the details and figures, click on the drop down box at the top right above the chart to get the "Consumption Data Table":

Use this for the first step - your baseline usage. Fill in the Energy Usage Chart, keep one half and return the other to Salt Spring Books.
